My Clinical Background
I was born and raised in San Diego, CA and relocated to VA in 1997. I received both my M.A. and Psy.D. Degrees from the CA School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, and graduated in 1997. My undergraduate program was at CSUNorthridge where I obtained a B.A. in Psychology and Deaf Studies. My Pre-and Post-Doctoral Internships were completed between 1995-1997 in Rochester, NY at Strong Memorial Hospital/University of Rochester.
Throughout the years, I have worked in both in-and out-patient programs as follows: Inpatient psychiatric hospital units, community-based inpatient and outpatient clinics for the treatment of addictions (specifically alcoholism and eating disorders) severe mental illness, and personality disorders. I’ve also worked in school counseling centers and in mobile crisis and emergency services for hearing, hard of hearing, and deaf individuals as I’m also sign language fluent.
Currently, I am housed in private practice located at 7019 Backlick Court Springfield, VA 22151 where I offer individual and couples therapy with a fairly flexible schedule. I answer my own phone, emails, and texts.
